On 25th November, CATL held a much-anticipated new product conference and officially launched its newly-developed ‘Tianxing Heavy Truck Battery’. With its excellent performance and diversified version options, this battery quickly attracted wide attention in the industry. The ‘Tianhang Heavy Duty Truck Battery’ is divided into four versions: Super Charge, Long Life, Long Endurance and High Strength, all of which support 1000V high voltage technology.
As the electrification process of heavy-duty commercial vehicles continues to accelerate, its limitations are becoming more and more prominent, restricting the further expansion of the pure electric heavy-duty commercial vehicle market. Industry pain points such as short range, slow replenishment and fast life decay have become key challenges that need to be solved.
The four versions of CATL Tianxing heavy commercial vehicle batteries all support 1000V high voltage, which improves charging efficiency by 43% and reduces loss by 50%.
Among them, the super-charging version can achieve 4C super-charging, 15-minute fast replenishment 70% SOC, up to 600 degrees of power, up to 500km of range, and 8 years and 1.2 million kilometres of long life; the long-life version can achieve 15 years and 3 million kilometres of long life, and support for power switching, up to 500km of range, and reduce the cost of equal sharing of the use of the battery; the long-lasting version has 1,000 degrees of power, and achieves 220Wh/kg heavy commercial vehicle industry’s highest mass energy density, can reach 800km range, and has a long warranty of 8 years and 120km; high-strength version for construction machinery, can achieve 500,000km of driving under mining truck conditions without leakage of liquids, electricity and gas, volume utilisation rate increased by 40% at the same time, to achieve the waterproof IP68 level standard;
In addition, the high-strength version of the original ‘Tarzan architecture’, the integration of integrated technology to the extreme, not only to increase the volume utilisation rate of 40%, but also to achieve IP68 waterproof standards, can directly withstand the water wash, anti-corrosion performance compared to the industry standard, to achieve a double leap. In addition, the battery pack also has an ‘armoured coating’ that protects it from electrochemical corrosion, so that it is always in the best condition under adverse working conditions.
